SVFD sponsors a Junior Rookie program which allows high school juniors and seniors to learn about the Fire Service. Junior rookies attend training sessions, work nights and assist at fire scenes helping with non-fire fighting duties such as hitting the hydrant, handling equipment, and ventilation. Interested in volunteering? Memberships for Jr. Rookies and adults are available. Pick up an application at the fire station during a Tuesday night work night. Meetings begin at 6:30 p.m.
